Italy's Mount Etna volcano spewed lava for around five hours early Sunday morning. The eruption started around midnight and lasted until just before dawn.
The lava fountains reached a height of 600 metres, marking the sixteenth time the volcano has erupted this year.
Mount Etna is located on the Italian island of Sicily and is the highest active volcano on the European continent, at around 3,329 metres (10,922 feet) high.
