      Qadri Jamil, Syria's former deputy prime minister, gave a press conference on Wednesday in Moscow, saying the Geneva II conference is the only viable solution to the conflict in Syria, but reinforcing support for the Syrian army.

      Jamil was formally dismissed from his high ranking post in the Assad government in late October. State media cited issues concerning his performance and a lack of coordination with other officials as the reasons for his dismissal.
