      Vietnam: Putin pays respects at Vietnam War Memorial

      President of Russia Vladimir Putin laid wreaths at the Vietnam War Memorial and visited the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum in Hanoi on Tuesday.

      After the official welcome ceremony, Putin held talks with President of Vietnam Truong Tan Sang. Later, Russian-Vietnamese talks continued in the presence of both countries’ delegations.

      Putin is on a one-day state visit to Vietnam. During his stay, the Russian president is expected to sign 15 cooperation agreements, including a deal on joint gas and oil exploration between Russian and Vietnamese state-owned companies, PetroVietnam and Rosneft. Other agreements relate to economics, trade, investment, education, health care, science, and technology and defence.
