      Syria: Child disability centre faces hardship amidst war

      The Centre for Children with Disabilities in Homs' Sheen district is facing severe shortages due to the ongoing crisis in Syria.

      The centre, which cares for children with special needs, currently relies on the donations of local citizens and charity providers, with support from international organizations remaining insufficient.

      Patients at the centre face worsening conditions, with a severe lack of medicine and books posing constant problems.

      According to UNICEF’s The State of the World’s Children 2013 report, children with disabilities are at added risk during times of disaster and emergency, with the crisis in Syria being no exception.
