Greece: Golden Dawn clothe and feed citizens to honour slain members
Far-right party Golden Dawn staged a mass handout in Greece's capital on Saturday, attracting about 1,000 people who came to collect free food and clothing.
While the party organises similar events multiple times a year, this event was planned in memory of two recently killed Golden Dawn members, according to a spokesperson.
The previous food handout in July 2013 attracted over 2,000 people and was forced to take place outside the Golden Dawn headquarters rather than in the planned Attikis Square, as Athens Mayor Giorgos Kaminis prohibited the gathering because it "consciously promoted racism and xenophobia."
