A press conference was held in Ausberg on Tuesday after the discovery of over 1,500 pieces of art, seized by the Nazi's were discovered in an apartment in Munich.
The trove is worth an estimated €1 billion ($1.35 billion), and includes pieces by Chagall, Renoir and Picasso. Found in a Munich apartment belonging to Cornelius Gurlitt, the paintings are reportedly being housed in a customs warehouse outside the Bavarian capital.
Authorities are still tracking the original owners of the artwork. The works were originally confiscated by police in 2011. Authorities began investigating Gurlitt in 2010, after he was found carrying large quantities of cash and a fake Austrian passport while travelling to Switzerland.
