      UK: Brooks and Coulson leave courtroom after day one of trial

      The trial of former News International chief executive Rebekah Brooks and ex-editor of the News of the World Andy Coulson began on Monday, with the pair leaving the courtroom of London's Old Bailey after day one of the trial.

      The former employees of media tycoon Rupert Murdoch are standing trial for phone-hacking allegations, with the court case expected to last until April 2014.
