Germany: Topless FEMEN activists drive message home at Saudi Embassy
Four FEMEN activists held a protest outside the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Berlin on Monday, demanding an end to the country's ban on female drivers. The activists drove to the embassy, and protested from their car, chanting slogans like "Too fast, too furious, women drive now!".
Although there were no arrests, the Saudi Embassy officials took photos and videos to document the protest. Saudi Arabia is the only country in the world that prohibits women from driving, declaring it 'haram' or forbidden, according to religious authorities and Saudi scholars. In Saudi Arabia, women are also demanding for the ban to be lifted and have co-ordinated an ongoing campaign against the law.
