Russia: Bolshoi acid attack hearing postponed
The trial of Bolshoi Theatre dancer Pavel Dmitrichenko was postponed for a week on Tuesday at a hearing in Moscow. Dmitrichenko is accused of ordering an acid attack on the Bolshoi's artistic director Sergei Filin earlier this year, a crime for which he could face 12 years in prison.
Dmitrichenko, who has been in custody since March, stands trial with alleged attacker Yuri Zarutsky, and Andrei Lipatov, who is accused of driving the assailant to and from the scene. The attack nearly blinded Filin, who has had more than 20 operations to repair the damage.
The hearing did not take place as the lawyer for one of the defendants was unable to attend. The next hearing is scheduled for October 29, at Meshchansky District Court in Moscow.
