Hundreds of protesters from French trade union federation 'Force Ouvriere', or Workers' Power, marched through central Paris on Tuesday as part of a day of action against a new pension reform bill that was expected to passed the French Assembly.
The march started from Place Saint Augustin and ended at Place Concorde. Demonstrators shouted anti-government slogans and demanded the creation of more jobs along with fixing the retirement age at 60.
There was a heavy police presence particularly at Concorde where authorities were present in large numbers. The road leading to the National Assembly from Concorde had been heavily barricaded to stop the protesters marching near the Assembly building.
