Germany: Greenpeace activists chain themselves to Gazprom pumps over Arctic Sunrise suspects
Greenpeace supporters chained themselves to a Gazprom petrol station pump in Berlin on Wednesday, in a solidarity protest with the 14 Greenpeace activists charged with piracy in Russia for trying to board an oil rig in September.
Gazprom representatives unsuccessfully tried to persuade the activists to unchain themselves and police officers present allowed the protest to go ahead. Other activists handed out leaflets to passers-by, explaining the demand for the release of the 14 Greenpeace activists.
