USA: "Any country not yielding to American pressure is under threat" - Syrian FM
Syrian Foreign Minister, Walid Muallem gave an interview commenting on taking a UN Security Council resolution on chemical weapons, Friday.
Minister Muallem held a meeting, Friday with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov on the sidelines of the 68th Session of the UN General Assembly in New York. The meeting focused on Syria and the adoption of UN Security Council resolution in support of the formulation of international control stockpiles of chemical weapons to Syria and its subsequent destruction of the leading role of the OPCW.
Muallem confirmed the Damascus mood to engage constructively with the OPCW and the UN in order to implement this resolution and the complete elimination of chemical weapons. He also reiterated the commitment of the Syrian authorities to engage in dialogue with the various structures of the opposition and the Government's agreement to participate in an international conference in Geneva on Syria without preconditions.
