Poland: "No European Union, No NATO, Poland for Poles.", nationalists shout
Around 300 Polish nationalists marched through Warsaw to remember the 74th anniversary of the Soviet Union invading Poland during World War II on Sunday. Protesters, including members of the far-right National Rebirth of Poland (NOP), shouted nationalist slogans such as "No European Union, No NATO, Poland for Poles."
Adam Gmurczyk, the protest organiser, says that for the NOP "national freedom, independence is a very precious thing. It is worth to fight for freedom, no matter what ideology they use: European Union liberalism, communism or nazism."
The Red Army invaded eastern Poland on 17 September 1939. The military operation took place 16 days after Nazi Germany attacked Poland from the western side of the Polish border.
