Germany: Nismo smart watch exclusively for Nissan drivers
Nismo, a smart watch, designed especially for Nissan Nismo vehicles, was introduced on Tuesday at the international car show in Frankfurt. The Nissan Nismo Watch monitors and analyses vehicle's performance, driver's heart rate and social media presence.
The watch is connected to the vehicle's on-board system and uses lithium battery which can be charged by micro-USB. Battery life is said to be "over seven days" under normal usage conditions.
Gareth Dunsmore, Marketing, Communication and Merchandising Manager for Nissan Europe, said: "Nismo watch takes that concept on and makes the performance from the car accessible to your driving. And while you are driving, all those information - speed, G force, we can feed information on that through to the watch and at the same time we measure your heart rates. So, essentially, we are measuring how excited you are when you're driving a product."
IAA is the world's leading car show held biennially. Some of the manufacturers who exhibit this year include Nissan, BMW, VW, Lamborghini and Lexus.
