Germany: Pink Floyd's Roger Waters becomes another brick in Berlin's wall
British superstar musician Roger Waters of Pink Floyd came to Berlin Tuesday in support of the protest that is opposed to bids to demolish large sections of the wall.
Speaking from a stage set up in front of Berlin's most famous section of remaining wall, Waters said: "It is very important that we understand that there are more important things in life than commerce". Behind the iconic, graffiti-ridden section of wall known as East Side Gallery, luxury apartments are to be built.
A section of the wall was removed in March, which triggered large protests. Musician and actor David Hasselhoff has also campaigned recently for the preservation of the wall.
