The world's largest passenger airliner, the double-decker Airbus A380, was displayed for the second time in history on Wednesday at the MAKS trade fair, in Zhukovsky.
Showcased at the Zhukovsky Airfield, a Russian military airbase near Moscow the airbus grabbed the attention of both specialists and local spectators in attendance for the second day of the MAKS 2013.
The A380 is a wide-body, four-engine jet airliner. It made its first flight on 27 April 2005 and began commercial service in October 2007 with Singapore Airlines. The A380-800 has a design range of 15,700 kilometers, sufficient to fly from New York to Hong Kong.
The A380 is available with two types of turbofan engines: the Rolls-Royce Trent 900 or the Engine Alliance GP7000 and is selling for a tidy US $403.9 million or €300 million.
