Russia: Moscow receives fleeing citizens ahead of NATO attack
Russian citizens fleeing from Syria arrived safely aboard an Emercom Ilyushin-76 jet from Latakia to Moscow on Wednesday. Almost 90 people, including 75 Russians and 14 other Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) citizens were evacuated from the country ahead of possible NATO-led attacks.
Russia aims to evacuate all Russian and CIS citizens ahead of possible military strikes. Throughout the flight passengers, mostly women and children, were being supported by psychologists who were also on board.
More than 700 people have been evacuated from Syria by Russian emercom since the beginning of 2013.
