Russia: Putin visits chopper maker Rosvertol
Russian President Vladimir Putin visited a MI-helicopters manufacturing plant in Russia's port city, Rostov-on-Don on Thursday. During the visit to Rosvertol manufacturing company, Putin was shown the newest in military and transport helicopters.
CEO of Rosvertol, Boris Slyusar showed Putin the MI-28 UB, this is a dual controlled helicopter which can be used for training and for regular military operations.
Putin was accompanied by Denis Manturov, head of Ministry of Industry and Trade. They examined an 'Air-taxi' helicopter based on the MI-38 model.
Rosvertol was founded in 1939, it is one of the holding factories for Russian helicopters. It has produced MI-28N, MI-35M, MI-24P and MI-26T helicopters.
