USA: Filthiest fetish fair warms up San Francisco
Thousands of leather-clad men and fetish enthusiasts came together in the US city of San Francisco Sunday for the Up Your Alley festival, also known as the Dore Alley Festival. The organisers of the event also run the more well-known Folsom Street Fair - the world's largest BDSM fetish and leather event. Considered one of San Francisco's most controversial adult street fairs, Up Your Alley is less tourist focused than it's big sister event and acts as a local warm up for the September festivities.
"You won't find a filthier event here in the States," the event organiser promises on its website.
Stalls accommodate a range of fetish tastes including bondage, animal role-play, kink, leather straps, whips, paddles, latex outfits and suspension. Attendees are mostly male, mostly gay, into hardcore and BDSM in contrast to the Folsom Street Fair, which is the more pansexual, gender-diverse version.
California is known as one of the most liberal states in its policies regarding LGTB rights. They saw a law preventing gay and lesbian couples from marrying overturned by the Supreme Court on June 26.
