Germany: Johnny Depp under pressure at Berlin "Lone Ranger" premiere

Screaming teenagers and fans of Hollywood superstar Johnny Depp welcomed the crew of "Lone Ranger" to Berlin Friday. The new Western-style film boasts producer Jerry Bruckheimer and director Gore Verbinski. Depp was joined by his co-stars Armie Hammer and Ruth Wilson.

The world premiere took place in the internationally known Disneyland resort in Florida on June 22nd 2013. With a disappointing first month of box office results in the US the publishing house now hopes to succeed in Germany, starting on August 8th 2013 with nation-wide releases.

Some fans had been waiting since dawn at Berlin's Sony Centre and some travelled from cities as far away as Vienna or Cologne. Depp showed his appreciation by spending almost an hour and a half giving interviews and autographs with his fans.

With an estimated final production budget of more than €250 million the dream team Bruckheimer, Verbinski and Depp has failed to achieve the same success as they did with the trilogy "Pirates of the Caribbean". In the US, the movie made less than €20 million on it's opening two days.

Depp and his family will stay another day in Germanys capital before leaving back home in his private jet Boeing 737.
