Russia: Summit with EU will make short-term visas a thing of the past?
Russian President Vladimir Putin met with EU president Herman Van Rumpoy at the Russia Federation - European Union (EU) joint summit, on Monday, in Yekatarinburg.
The summit is set to cover a wide range of issues, with the economic crisis and Syrian crisis taking primacy. Other topics include the situation in the Middle East and North Africa as a whole, Iran's nuclear programme and the state of affairs on the Korean Peninsula.
The principal day will be June 4 where talks focus on a proposal to allow citizens of the EU and Russia to be able to travel between the two political bodies for short trips without a visa.
