In a psychiatric hospital near Moscow at least 38 people have been killed in a fire that started early on Friday morning. 'Psychiatric Hospital 14' is located in Ramenskoe, Dmitrov District in the Moscow region. Forty-one people were staying in the psychiatric hospital when the fire started. Reportedly, authorities blame a short circuit as the possible cause for the fire. Arson is not ruled out either.
The hospital housed patients with several mental disorders and had bars on its windows to prevent escape attempts. It is unknown whether patients were drugged at the time of the fire. On Friday morning it was reported that three people have survived, including one member of the medical staff. The one nurse who managed to escape the fierce blaze, brought two patients out of the building to safety where they were found by firefighters.
