Russia: Police uncover Belgorod suspect arms cache
Russian police discovered a weapons cache belonging to Belgorod shooting suspect Sergey Pomazun in a forest on the outside the city on Thursday. Two bags containing two shotguns, three carbines and the suspect's personal effects were found under brushwood in the woodland area nearby the site in which Pomazun was found.
Pomazun is the main suspect in a shooting spree that killed six people in "Ohota" store in Belgorod on Monday. Pomazun allegedly opened fire in a hunting store after a shop assistant refused to sell him firearms based on his criminal record, shooting dead three shop attendants and spraying bullets at customers outside the store, killing two schoolgirls aged 14 and 16.
He then fled the scene and hid in a forest before trying to flee the city on a freight train on Tuesday. He was arrested boarding the train, ending a manhunt that lasted over 24 hours and involved over 2,000 Russian and Ukrainian police.
