Ukraine: Snarling 'Wild Boar' tears up central Kiev
New Ukrainian rally-monster, the VEPR (Wild Boar), hit the streets of Ukraine's capital, Kiev, on Sunday. A stunt driver dazzled onlookers, driving the vehicle in a performance that featured drifting and freestyle manoeuvres.
Designed and produced by the Kremenchuk Automobile Assembly Plant, the multi-purpose off-road vehicle boasts 136 horsepower and a top-speed of 140 km/h (87 mp/h). It features large armoured wheels with a diameter of roughly 1 metre, and comes with a price tag of $50,000 (€38,280).
The VEPR was driven as part of a car festival organised by the City Moto Club. More than 2,000 people gathered at Kiev's Khreshchatyk Street and Independence Square to see an array of cars in action. Stunt drivers performed freestyle, drifts and stunt-riding manoeuvres. The event also featured cars produced specially for the show by club-members, including a self-made electro-car.
