Spain: Run for your life!
As part of the international humans versus zombies craze, around 400 people took part in a 5 kilometre (3 mile) race in the Spanish town of Chiloeches on Saturday. While 'human' racers ran through dense forest and various obstacles they were randomly attacked by bloodthirsty zombies.
Before the race 'human' participants stretched and prepared for the run while professional makeup artists helped their rivals transform into full-scale zombies. Each 'human' was given three lives and competed against zombies for survival to the finish line.
The zombies versus humans game idea originated in the United States with the first race taking place in 2005. Today, the game is regularly played in 650 colleges and universities across the world.
