Media gathered outside the London Ritz Carlton Monday following the death of Margaret Thatcher, former British Prime Minister and leader of the Conservative Party, due to a stroke. Thatcher was 87 years old.

Thatcher took office in 1975, becoming the first female Prime Minister of Great Britain. A firm leader and voice, she took strong stances on issues domestic and foreign. From demanding rebates of money from the European Community, igniting the Falklands war and removing free milk from primary schools.

Downing Street accounced that she will recieve a ceremonial funeral with military honours at St Paul's Cathedral in London.
