Indonesia: 'He does not listen to any advice from the West ' - Lavrov on Zelensky's speech at G20

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Tuesday while speaking to journalists on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Bali that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky 'is not listening to any Western advice'.

"I drew only one conclusion from his speech. That he does not listen to any Western advice yet. Well, let's not list everything he said. It was belligerent rhetoric, Russophobic, aggressive," Lavrov said.

He added that had reminded French President Emmanuel Macron that "the Ukrainian side categorically refuses any negotiations and puts forward conditions that are clearly unrealistic and inadequate in this situation.

The foreign minister stressed that 'there is a split of consciousness' on the issue of the launch of the military training mission by the EU.

"In parallel with this, as I said, both President Macron and Chancellor Schulz and other European leaders talk about the need to move towards a peace settlement. This kind of, you know, as I said, political split personality or as President Putin had said specific non-traditional forms of international relations. But we are getting used to it. All sorts of things are happening", he said.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in his speech at the G20 summit on Tuesday listed the conditions for peace. The Ukrainian leader said Russia must withdraw its troops, pay compensation for the damage caused and ensure radiation, food and energy security. He also suggested that the parties should sign 'a document confirming the end of the war'.

Moscow launched the military offensive in Ukraine in late February after recognising the independence of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics.

Kiev denounced the Russian action, and Zelensky imposed martial law throughout the country, announcing a general mobilisation.
