Italian barber Lilo Valeri was seen offering his services to unvaccinated individuals at his shop in Messina on Saturday.
In solidarity with those who are not fully-vaccinated against COVID-19 vaccines, Valeri has decided to the bill for his customers' rapid tests, a requirement for unvaccinated Italians to enter all salons.
"The unvaccinated customer needs a green pass. I made some agreement with nearby pharmacies, but sometimes they are overcrowded so my customer can take a COVID-19 test elsewhere and I'll refund it," Valeri said.
According to Valeri the new COVID-19-related restrictions made it difficult for those who aren't inoculated to get a haircut.
On January 10 the Italian government imposed new restrictions against the unvaccinated due to a surge in COVID-19 cases.
Those without a vaccination certificate or recent proof of recovery against the virus cannot enter restaurants, bars, public transport or gyms. Italians who are over 50 years old will have to pay a monthly fine of 100 euros (113 dollars) if they fail to get a booster vaccine.
