France: Tear gas used as hundreds of Yellow Vests hit Lyon
Hundreds of Yellow Vest protesters descended onto the streets of the French city of Lyon on Saturday, with riot police also seen present at the demonstration.
Tensions between the protesters and the police reportedly heightened when the demonstration tried to approach city's Perrache train station. Tear gas was used and one person was reportedly arrested.
Protesters were also seen cheering when a car with reported policemen was leaving the area, as they had allegedly been spotted without police uniform while surveilling the protesters.
Since the beginning of Yellow Vest protests in November 2018, tens of thousands have joined demonstrations across France over a variety of grievances, ranging from taxes on fuel to income inequality.
