
Turkey: Belarus diplomat shot after quarrel with neighbour - Ankara governor
A Belarusian diplomat was shot and wounded by his neighbour in Ankara late on Wednesday, as confirmed by the governor of Turkey's capital.
Under-Secretary Alexander Poganshev was attacked by his neighbour, a retired colonel, who later committed suicide, Governor Vasip Sahin said. He added that the diplomat was taken to hospital in Ankara and was receiving treatment.
Sahin said the incident had "no political motive" and followed a "a quarrel". He stated that public prosecutors are investigating the incident.
