Venezuela: National Guard injured during clashes with pro-Guaido protesters
Members of the Venezuelan National Guard were injured during clashes with pro-Guaido protesters near the Altamira Highway in Caracas on Wednesday.
Footage shows a guardsman bleeding from an injury to his eye and medics can later be seen attending to the injured.
The Venezuelan National Guard fired tear gas and their rifles in the air to attempt to disperse the protesters.
Guaido has repeatedly called for an uprising which he has dubbed 'Operation Freedom' and on Tuesday morning released a video calling for a military and popular revolt.
Venezuela has been in a political crisis since January 23, when Venezuelan opposition leader Juan Guaido declared himself interim president in a move now recognised by over 50 countries including the United States as well as the European Union.
