Egypt: Arab League holds emergency meeting over Gaza in Cairo
An extraordinary meeting of the Arab League was held in Cairo on Thursday, to discuss the latest developments in Gaza.
The meeting, which was attended by the organisation's permanent representatives, had been requested by the Palestinian leadership.
Members called for an immediate halt to Israel's military action and an end to violence, with Palestinian ambassador in Egypt Diab al Louh noting that Israeli actions left 14 people killed and 36 wounded.
A cease-fire between the Palestinian factions in Gaza and Israel was reached on Tuesday, through the mediation of Egypt.
