Netherlands: 'GRU cyber operation disrupted' - Dutch DefMin
Dutch defence minister Ank Bijleveld-Schouten said that Dutch intelligence disrupted a cyber operation conducted by the Russian military intelligence service, GRU, in the Netherlands, speaking at a press conference in The Hague on Thursday.
"On 13 April this year, (Dutch intelligence) carried out an operation to disrupt a GRU operation targeting the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, the OPCW, The Hague," Bijleveld-Schouten claimed.
Four Russians have been expelled from the Netherlands in light of the 'cyber operation' accusations. Russian Foreign Minsitry spokesperson Maria Zakharova has since described the accusations as "big fantasies".
