
Germany: Security tight in Munich for 185th Oktoberfest
The 185th Oktoberfest opened its security lines shortly after 09:00 local time (07:00 GMT) to let thousands of party revellers into the venue, in Munich on Saturday.
Security personnel and police officers scanned the crowds and checked backpacks and purses.
The official opening will be celebrated in the traditional way with the opening of the first keg by the Mayor of Munich Dieter Reiter and Minister President of Bavaria Markus Soeder at 12:00 local time (10:00 GMT) inside the Schottenhammel tent.
