Bosnia: Two dead in fatal head-on train crash in Jablanica
Two people died and one was seriously injured after two freight trains collided head-on in Jablanica, southern Bosnia, on Thursday.
Footage filmed on the same day shows workers clearing the wreckage of the two trains.
A witness to the crash, Tufet Himzija, said he ran towards the train after seeing the collision: "One of the train drivers ran towards us asking for help. The rest of them were inside, unable to move and asking for help. A lot of locals gathered quickly to pull the people out the train. One of them we pulled out an hour and a half after the accident and they say he is still alive," he said.
Bosnian media reported that an engine driver narrowly escaped the crash by jumping from the train moments before it collided.
The cause of the crash is still being investigated.
