Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in Kursk to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Kursk on Thursday.
The Russian leader laid a wreath at the Kursk Bulge memorial and observed a minute’s silence surrounded by dozens of veterans and members of the Unarmia military-patriotic movement.
He also laid flowers at two other memorials in the memorial park: the monument to Marshal Georgy Zhukov and ‘City of Military Glory’ memorial.
Reportedly, 35 veterans of the battle of Kursk participated in the celebrations. A military parade took place comprising 75 pieces of military hardware and more than 1,500 soldiers from the Western military district.
