
Brazil: Detained Patrick Hickey moved to 'detention facility' for questioning - Rio 2016
Rio 2016 Executive Director of Communications Mario Andrada announced that the head of the European Olympic Committee Patrick Hickey has been taken to a detention facility for further questioning after being arrested on suspicion of swindling ticket sales, during an International Olympic Committee (IOC) press briefing in Rio de Janeiro, Friday.
The 71-year-old Hickey, who is also a member of the IOC and the head of the European Olympic Committee, the body which unites 50 national Olympic committees, was arrested at the Windsor Marapendi hotel in Barra da Tijuca early morning on Wednesday as part of a police investigation into alleged ticket touting during the Olympic Games.
