
Russia: Human remains found at the site of mysterious plane crash
A search expedition discovered human remains at the site of the 1935 Savoia-Marchetti S.55 crash near the Lazarev settlement in Russia's Khabarovsk Territory, Saturday.
The search team, organised by Association AviaPoisk, found both passengers' remains and their personal belongings. During an excavation of the area, some 193 bone fragments belonging to females and children were found.
The Italian-made passenger seaplane was on route from Alexandrovsk to Khabarovsk on June 26, 1935 when in crashed with twelve people on board, including a child and two People's Commissariat for Internal Affairs (NKVD) secret service agents.
The wreckage was first discovered in 2015 where an initial search group collected 118 bone fragments and personal belongings.
