In an unusual bid to end voting infractions in the Ukrainian parliament, a Deputy released a drone inside the chamber to observe proceedings, in Kiev, Thursday.

The MP from the Batkivschyna faction, Igor Lutsenko, claimed the device is needed to put an end to passing laws by falsifying voting results.

According to him, the drone was a move to stop some Deputies running around placing electronic votes on behalf of absent deputies. The quadcopter was launched during the morning session before the vote on the National Commission for Regulation in Energy and Utilities bill.

The bill is intended to bring the energy market under control as it was criticised by many for corruption and mismanagement. Later, the first Vice-speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Irina Gerashchenko appealed to the Regulation Committee with a demand to punish those who launched the drone.

The members of the Rada cannot come to an agreement on new regulations in housing after tariffs were sharply increased since July 1.
