
Belarus: Minsk peace talks begin
Negotiators from the OSCE, Russia, Ukraine and the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DNR/DPR) arrived in Minsk, Wednesday for another round of talks concerning a settlement to the conflict in eastern Ukraine. The meeting comes after Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko announced the new round of talks following a telephone conference between himself, Russian President Vladimir Putin, French President Francois Hollande and German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
Among the representatives were OSCE chairperson-in-office representative Heidi Tagliavini, former President of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma, Ukrainian politician Viktor Medvedchuk, Russian ambassador to Ukraine Mikhail Zurabov, DNR politician Denis Pushilin and LNR spokesperson Vladislav Daynego.
The Ukraine Contact Group will meet in the Belarusian capital till December 26.
